Lei, justiça e judicialização de conflitos a partir de relatos de mulheres no Distrito Federal
This dissertation analyzes the perception of women who have been through situations of domestic violence and triggered the Maria da Penha Law. The goal is to understand the treatment offered by the criminal justice system from the perceptions of women who used this system and that at some point, they have chosen to archive processes. The itinerary of this work began in the archives of the Domestic and Family Violence against Women Court Center of Núcleo Bandeirante, known to have implemented pilot project caring for women in situations of violence in Distrito Federal. The field investigations were based on information gathered from access to archived files. Then interviews were conducted with women applicants of some of these processes. At the end of the route, from the analysis of these data it is argued that although these women have accessed a pilot project recognized by assisting women victims of violence does not mean that they consider that their demands were met by the State. In this sense, the analysis of this work reflect on subjective characteristics present throughout the service in the justice system influence the perception of women about the treatment and the legislation they triggered.
A ação semiótico-social da publicidade governamental sob a perspectiva da análise de discurso crítica e da multimodalidade
This doctoral thesis in Linguistics consists of a qualitative and interpretative research in the area of Language and Society, following the line called Speeches, Social Representations and texts. The thesis proposed in this research focuses on the investigation of linguistic and semiotic resources that ground a semiotic-governmental social action whose emotional and identificational involvement with the reader / viewer directs to the intensification of political party propaganda, with the consequent strengthening of the government brand and the establishment of the position of client-citizen, to the detriment of citizenship, which will be unveiled mainly by analyzing the publicity of the Bank of Brazil and Caixa Econômica Federal. The conceptual, theoretical and methodological organization of this thesis was based especially in Critical Discourse Analysis (Fairclough, 1989, 2003, 2012), in Systemic Functional Linguistics Halliday (Halliday, 1968, 2004 and 2014) and Multimodality, Kress (2010) and Kress and van Leeuwen (2006), using the matrix method transcription and multimodal analysis films (Baldry e Thibault, 2010). My methodology was built having as a foundational pillar the qualitative-interpretative method, which seeks to study social issues taking into account that the social fabric is very dynamic and study it does not mean establishing universal truths, but approaching the social reality also through the semiotic systems produced by the institutions, knowing that the analysis will always be partial and subjective, although research allows some generalizations. I used the multimodal transcription matrix and enlarged it in two other matrices: the matrix of imagery-verbal progression and the matrix of rhetorical moments. The first allowed me to analyze and propose theoretical contributions about the relationship between two semiotic systems, precisely the verbal language and the image sequence, suggesting three types of relationship: accumulation, reverse legend and divergence. With this matrix, it could still theoretically contribute to assume that there is in every human communication event a functional specialization of semiotic systems this suggests that, in commercials of governmental institutions, images may specialize in interpersonal metafunction and the language can specialize in ideational metafunction. I have also contributed to the theory by proposing a new text meaning for the three text meanings of ADC, which is the identification. Here identification means the process that allows the viewer to identify himself or herself with the reality depicted in the commercial. This identification as a process is consistent with what Kress calls mimesis in his work of 2010. I also have collaborated in theory by suggesting a new way of operation of ideology called by me idealization, which allows the discursive and ideological homogenization of a population through a common ideal, which in this research is Brazil idealized. The idealization makes easier the process of governance and maintains hegemony. My findings, conclusions and generalizations suggest that there is a great tendency of institutional advertisements structurally converting in political speeches Furthermore, there is a tendency to a simulation of a larger interaction with the viewer. This may indicate that this generic hybridity of institutional advertising (government advertising, propaganda and political discourse) may be ignoring the true function of an institutional advertising, namely, to inform and to help it audience: the citizen.
