Bu makale Şemseddin Sami’nin Taassuk-i Talât ve Fitnat adli romanini trajik olay orgusu acisindan incelemektedir. Bir trajedide trajik etkiyi saglayan en onemli oge olay orgusudur ve yazar trajik etkiyi olaylari belli bir duzende siralayarak elde eder. Ondokuzuncu yuzyil Osmanli-Turk romanlarini yapi acisindan inceledigimizde bu eserlerin bir bolumunde trajik olay orgusunun kullanildigini goruruz. Bu acidan bakildiginda Taassuk-i Talât ve Fitnat’in ayricalikli bir konumu vardir. Bu eser trajik olay orgusunun butun ozelliklerini ihtiva ettigi icin Osmanli-Turk romanlari icin bir prototip olarak gorulebilir. Trajedi bir amac ugruna baskaldiran veya hatali bir tercih yapan karakterlerin anlatisidir. Kahraman bir karar verir ve bu kararin sonuclariyla adim adim yuzlesir. Yani trajik oyku bir catisma uzerine kuruludur; oyku gelistikce bu catisma bir cozume kavusur. Bu cozum, ya olumlere yol acar ya da kisiler bir facianin esiginden son anda doner. Taassuk-i Talât ve Fitnat gorucu usulu evlilige karsi ask evliligini savunur; gecmiste yapilan bir hatanin agir sonuclarini gozler onune serer ve bu catismalari birbirine zit iki sonla cozumler. Ilkinde kahramanlar olumun esiginden donerken digerinde olurler. Boylelikle roman trajik olay orgusunun karsit yonlerini bunyesinde toplamis olur.

In this study, Cd (II) ion was determined using a cyclodextrin-based polymeric fluorescence sensor prepared by UV-curing technique. The effects of several parameters such as pH, time, coexisting ions on the fluorescence intensity were also examined. The excitation and emission wavelengths were found to be 374 nm and 422 nm, respectively. The measurement range was in the range of 4.45x10 -9 mol L -1 to 4.45x10 -8 mol L -1 for Cd(II) ions and the detection limit was calculated as 6.23 ´ 10 -10 mol L -1 . In addition, sensor membrane was selective which was not influenced by common coexisting metal ions. The concentrations of the foreign ions such as Pb(II), Co(III), Ag(I), Zn(II), Cu(II), Cr(III) are 1000-fold higher than Cd(II) ions. Besides the prepared polymeric fluorescence sensor was successfully implemented to the determination of Cd(II)ions in biscuit and tap water samples.

Objective. Molecular basis of wound healing process needs to further examined to determine the effective individual biological cues. The objective of this study was to investigate the wound closure, proliferation, and viability of L929 fibroblast when cultured with different concentration of soluble RGD peptid. Methods. RGD peptide was synthesized manually on solid phase. The percentage of healed wound area for control, 0.5 mM, 1 mM, and 2 mM at each time points were analyzed by ImageJ. Cell proliferation and viability were assessed with MTT and live/ dead analysis, respectively. Results. The results of wound closure area showed that increased RGD peptide concentration in the culture improved cellular migration which enables significantly accelerated wound closure. However, RGD peptide did not dramatically augmented cell proliferation. In addition, cell viability results indicated that dead cell numbers did not critically influence by increasing the RGD peptide concentration in the culture. Conclusions. The present study showed that soluble integrin binding peptide accelerated the migration and wound closure rate of L929 fibroblasts. Delivery of soluble integrin binding peptides into the wound area may be considered as an alternative wound treatment technique in the near future after proofing the concept study with animal and clinical studies.

Multiple primary tumors are rarely seen in clinical practice. Cases of metastatic breast cancer associated with multiple myeloma were rare in the literature. It is believed that simultaneously observed bone marrow involvement due to breast cancer and multiple myeloma is sporadic. We present a 49-year-old female patient with metastatic breast cancer who developed multiple myeloma during breast cancer treatment.

Radiation therapy is widely used to treat human malignancies, but many tumor types, including gliomas, exhibit significant radioresistance. Radiation therapy creates DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs), and DSB repair is linked to rapid changes in epigenetic modifications, including increased histone methylation. This increased histone methylation recruits DNA repair proteins which can then alter the local chromatin structure and promote repair. Consequently, combining inhibitors of specific histone methyltransferases with radiation therapy may increase tumor radiosensitivity, particularly in tumors with significant therapeutic resistance. Here, we demonstrate that inhibitors of the H4K20 methyltransferase SETD8 (UNC-0379) and the H3K9 methyltransferase G9a (BIX-01294) are effective radiosensitizers of human glioma cells. UNC-0379 blocked H4K20 methylation and reduced recruitment of the 53BP1 protein to DSBs, although this loss of 53BP1 caused only limited changes in radiosensitivity. In contrast, loss of H3K9 methylation through G9a inhibition with BIX-01294 increased radiosensitivity of a panel of glioma cells (SER2Gy range: 1.5 - 2.9). Further, loss of H3K9 methylation reduced DSB signaling dependent on H3K9, including reduced activation of the Tip60 acetyltransferase, loss of ATM signaling and reduced phosphorylation of the KAP-1 repressor. In addition, BIX-0194 inhibited DSB repair through both the homologous recombination and nonhomologous end-joining pathways. Inhibition of G9a and loss of H3K9 methylation is therefore an effective approach for increasing radiosensitivity of glioma cells. These results suggest that combining inhibitors of histone methyltransferases which are critical for DSB repair with radiation therapy may provide a new therapeutic route for sensitizing gliomas and other tumors to radiation therapy.

Nowadays, Ischemia Modified Albumin (IMA) has been regarded as an indicator for various maladies and complicated pregnancy in humans. Therefore, it is hypothesized that evaluation of the maternal serum IMA degrees can serve as an early detection of abortion in dairy cows. 252 Holstein cows’ serum samples were taken both in the 2nd and 6th months of their pregnancy. Twenty-two cattle were selected as a positive control group among the non aborted ones. Furthermore, blood samples from 20 non-pregnant cows were taken to identify the effects of physiological changes of pregnancy. IMA and Ischemia Modified Albumin Rate (IMAR) were markedly higher (p less than 0.01); and albumin was markedly lower (p less than 0.01) in aborted cows and healthy-pregnant cows compared with non-pregnant cows in both months. In aborted cows, IMA, IMAR and Oxidative stress index (OSI) degrees were found to be more increased than healthy pregnancies both in 2nd and 6th months of pregnancy; however, there were statistically significant only at 6th month (p less than 0.01). Total Oxidative Stress (TOS) levels were higher than healthy pregnancies. So, as a result of IMA which was caused by oxidative stress rising from hypoxia/ischemia could serve as an early bioindicator for miscarriage in cattle.

Abstract
Local governments, which are the closest units to people in terms of providing services, pay special attention to such issues as life and service quality, citizen satisfaction, meeting demands and expectations of citizens while making future plans and evaluating how successful they are in the public eye. The level of citizen satisfaction, citizens’ experiences and perceptions about local services and their ideas about the legitimacy, credibility and performance of Mayor affect the success of local governments, particularly municipalities, in a positive or a negative way. This study aims to develop “a citizen report” about the local services in Konya by identifying how satisfied people are with the quality of the local public services provided by Konya Municipality.

From Syria, in which the domestic quagmire erupted in 2011 migrated more than three million people in the late five years according to formal statistics. After emergence of migrant influx, Turkey embraced open door policy and built sheltering centers in the neighboring cities right after the appearance of migration wave. There are 253.748 refugees in 10 provinces at 24 different according to data on September 2016. Firstly, this study aims at investigating the various camps located on the different parts of the world built due to migration waves and whether they met the foundation targets of not. Secondly, the governance of refugee camps in Turkey and the position of these camps in refugee crisis is to be concerned and compared in compliance with the similar instance in the world and Turkey from a multidimensional perspective.
