Plasticity investigation of Medium Carbon Steel ( AISI CK45 ) treated by Quenching media .

Abdul-Ameer Ayad

This paper goals to investigate the plasticity of Medium Carbon Steel (AISI CK45) treated by three of Quenching ( Salty . Acid and Base ) media , the sample was selected with length (100 mm) and (10 mm) diameter  , has been prepared in the form of a shaft , (24) samples were immersed in different media for (100) hours, the conclusion that the quenching process of ( AISI CK 45 ) at salty (NaCl) media at a concentration of (5%) will give a high plasticity .

Preparation and Evaluation of Microencapsulated Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate Using Double Emulsion Method

Mohammed Wajeah Abdul Ameer · Nidhal K. Maraie

The need for producing sustained release dosage form was increased (especially for chronic diseases) to decrease side effect, increase efficacy of treatment, so it is now possible to administer the drugs once a week to once a year.Dexamethasone sodium Phosphate (DSP) is a potent corticosteroid used for the treatment of many conditions like osteoarthritis (OA) and post joint replacement surgery. Microencapsulated dexamethasone sodium phosphate (DSP) having continuous prolonged release was prepared. To achieve that, DSP microcapsules were prepared using w/o/w double emulsion method where PLGA was used as a polymer, PVA and glycerol as plasticizer and Cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) as emulsifying agent. Nine formulas of (PLGA coated (DSP) (microcapsules) were prepared to study the effect of different variables on the % yield and entrapment efficiency (EE) including the effect of internal aqueous phase volume, presence of NaCl (as osmotic pressure enhancer), PLGA concentration, plasticizer concentration and sonication time. The best formula was found to be formula (F1) containing 16 mg DSP coated with PLGA and found to give 85% EE and 94.19% yield.

Variables affecting sulfasalazine - ion exchange resin complexation

Ameer Zuhair Wohaib · Nidhal K. Maraie

The aim of this work is studying the effect of different variables on the loading of sulfasalazine on DEAE sephadex A 25 ion exchange resin as a carrier for systemic action. Different drug: resin complexes (resinate) of different ratios (2:1, 1:1, 1:2, 1:4, 1:6) were prepared, dionized distilledwater used to prepare sulfasalazine solution, and their entrapment efficiency was estimated through changing variable conditions including temperature of stirring, stirring time, stirring speed, pH. The best complex was formed using 1:6 drug: resin ratio prepared at 50 ºC, stirring speed 400 rpm for 120 minutes in deionized water (pH 7). The prepared complex gave 77.8% drug release within 15 minute and continued up to 97.613% within 75 minute upon exchanging the drug with ions of similar charge in the dissolution medium (phosphate buffer pH 7.4).

Topological loops with six-dimensional solvable multiplication groups having five-dimensional nilradical

Ágota Figula · Kornélia Ficzere · Ameer Al-Abayechi

Using connected transversals we determine the six-dimensional indecomposable solvable Lie groups with five-dimensional nilradical and their subgroups which are the multiplication groups and the inner mapping groups of three-dimensional connected simply connected topological loops. Together with this result we obtain that every six-dimensional indecomposable solvable Lie group which is the multiplication group of a three-dimensional topological loop has one-dimensional centre and twoor three-dimensional commutator subgroup.

First Record of Six Myxosporean Species (Myxozoa: Myxosporea) in Iraq from Gills of the Mugilid Fish Planiliza abu (Heckel, 1843)

Kefah N. Abdul-Ameer · Fatima Khalaf Atwan

Sampling of Planiliza abu specimens were done from July 2015 until the end of March 2016, a total of 118 specimens were collected weekly from Tigris River near Al-Graiat region in Baghdad province. The examination of gills of these fishes showed the occurrence of six myxosporean species which were documented for the first time in Iraq. These included: Myxobilatus baicalensis (Dogiel, 1957), Myxobolus bizerti Bahri & Marques, 1996, M. branchialis (Markevich, 1932), M. chuatsi (Dogiel &Akhmerov in Akhmerov, 1960), M. dermatobius (Ishii, 1916) and M. niei Shul'man, 1962. The description and measurements of these parasites were given as well as their illustrations.

Negligible Impact of Perinatal Tulathromycin Metaphylaxis on the Developmental Dynamics of Fecal Microbiota and Their Accompanying Antimicrobial Resistome in Piglets

Mohamed Zeineldin · Ameer Megahed · Benjamin Blair +3 more

While the antimicrobial resistance profiles of cultured pathogens have been characterized in swine, the fluctuations in antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs) associated with the developing gastrointestinal microbiota have not been elucidated. The objective of this study was to assess the impact of perinatal tulathromycin (TUL) metaphylaxis on the developmental dynamics of fecal microbiota and their accompanying antimicrobial resistome in pre-weaned piglets. Sixteen litters were given one of two treatments [control group (CONT; saline 1cc IM) and TUL group (TUL; 2.5 mg/kg IM)] directly after birth. Deep fecal swabs were collected at day 0 (prior to treatment), and again at days 5 and 20 post treatment. Shotgun metagenomic sequencing was performed on the extracted DNA, and the fecal microbiota structure and abundance of ARGs were assessed. Collectively, the swine fecal microbiota and their accompanying ARGs were diverse and established soon after birth. Across all samples, a total of 127 ARGs related to 19 different classes of antibiotics were identified. The majority of identified ARGs were observed in both experimental groups and at all-time points. The magnitude and extent of differences in microbial composition and abundance of ARGs between the TUL and CONT groups were statistically insignificant. However, both fecal microbiota composition and ARGs abundance were changed significantly between different sampling days. In combination, these results indicate that the perinatal TUL metaphylaxis has no measurable benefits or detriment impacts on fecal microbiota structure and abundance of ARGs in pre-weaned piglets.
