Kinetics of Dissociation of bis(2,4,6-Tripyridyl-s-triazine)iron(II) and tris(2,2′-Bipyridyl)iron(II) in the presence of Triton X-100/Tween 80 Mixed Micellar Medium

R. S. S. Srikanth Vemuri · P. Shyamala · Sk. Ameer Khan

Surface tension studies were carried on the binary surfactant mixtures over a wide range of TritonX-100 mole fractions and total surfactant concentrations to obtain critical micellar concentration values. These values were used to determine the composition of the mixed micelles and the average interactionparameter (β) which contains all the interactions of the mixed surfactants. The method is based onRubingh′s theory using a Gauss-Newton iteration technique written in FORTRAN. The value of βwas found to be -0.69 indicating synergistic behaviour i.e., combined positive catalytic effect of boththe surfactants on rates of reactions. Hence, the kinetics of dissociation of bis(2,4,6-tripyridyl-striazine)iron(II) ([Fe(tptz)2]2+) and tris(2,2′-bipyridyl)iron(II) ([Fe(bipy)3]2+) were studied in the presenceof Triton X-100/Tween 80 mixed micellar medium. The reactions have been carried out in the presenceof mixed micelles of Triton X-100/Tween 80 at various mole fractions of Triton X-100 (αTX-100 =[Triton X-100]/([Triton X-100] + [Tween 80])) and at different total surfactant concentrations of TritonX-100 and Tween 80 (Ct = [Triton X-100] + [Tween 80]). The results show that as αTX-100 increases therate increases for all values of Ct. Kinetic analysis has been carried out by using a simple pseudo phasemodel and binding constants were determined. These binding constants were found to be in agreementwith the binding constants obtained spectrophotometrically.

Applying al-zughair transform on nuclear physics

Emad A. Kuffi · Ali Hassan Mohammed · Ameer Qassim Majde +1 more

Al-Zughair transform is a novel transformation that is proposed in (2017), and due to its novelty it has not been applied to engineering fields, however Al-Zughair transform is capable to solve differential equations, for that reason it can be applied into engineering applications that include differential equations. In nuclear physics the radioactive decay of the atoms is well study subject, where there are many methods that are used to deal with it, however Al-Zughair transform has never been used before in that field, in this paper the differential equation of radioactive decay has been solved using Al-Zughair transform.

Encryption Image by Using RC6 and Hybrid Chaotic Map

Zahraa Faisal · Esraa H. Abdul Ameer

Cryptography is data processed in a way that becomes incomprehensible and unavailable to unauthorized persons. In this paper instructed method to encryption image by using RC6 algorithm and generated key by using hybrid chaotic map (tent and logistic map). Used some measures such as frequency test within a block, entropy, serial test (two-bit test), and frequency test (monobit test); to demonstrate the strength of the algorithm proposed in the image coding and protection. The MATLAB program was used as a work environment.

Emisi Karbon dan Produk Domestik Bruto: Investigasi Hipotesis Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) pada Negara Berpendapatan Menengah di Kawasan ASEAN

Muhamad Ameer Noor · Putu Mahardika Adi Saputra

Policymakers in the world are concerned with carbon emission due to the risk of global warming. Many studies on Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) consider carbon emission as a proxy of environmental degradation. This study aimed to investigate the existence of EKC and identify variations of relationships between carbon emissions and GDP per capita in ASEAN middle-income countries. The study was conducted on Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, and Malaysia based on 1971-2014 time series data using a simultaneous model (2SLS) for each country. The main variables studied were GDP per capita, square of GDP per capita, and carbon emission supported by other variables as the controlling variables. Validation on EKC existence was determined by GDP and GDP squared influence on carbon emission, while variations of relationship between GDP and carbon emission were based on the result of simultaneous regressions. The results showed that the existence of the EKC could not be validated in all countries because energy and transportation policies in each country failed to reduce the emission. On the other hand, carbon emission had a positive unidirectional influence on GDP in all countries. The effect of carbon emission coefficient to GDP showed that Thailand ranked the highest in CO2 efficiency, followed by Indonesia, Philippines, and Malaysia. This study recommended that carbon emission reduction policies in the four countries should focus more to easier access to environmentally friendly technology from developed countries for ensuring trade-offs between the economy and environment.

Synergistic interaction of Glomus mosseae T. and Trichoderma harzianum R. in the induction of systemic resistance of Cucumis sativus L. to Alternaria alternata (Fr.) K.

Due to the various negative impacts of chemical fungicides, the reduction of its applications in agricultural production process is widely recommended. Thus, the need and application of bio-agents in disease control has increased tremendously. The current study aimed at investigating the role of both bio-agents Glomus mosseae (mycorrhizal fungi) and Trichoderma harzianum in protection of Cucumis sativus (cucumber plants) against the fungal pathogen Alternaria alternata which is an opportunistic pathogen and the causal agent of cucumber wilt disease. Results obtained from this work revealed the positive influence of using bio-agents treatments in the reduction of pathogenic effects of A. alternata. The results also showed that G. mosseae and T. harzianum combination had a positive synergistic influence in reducing the detrimental effects of A. alternata ny improving the biomass yield (e.g. fresh and dry weight of root); as well as, on disease severity on C. sativus. Bio-agents (G. mosseae and T. harzianum) increased resistance in C. sativus by raising the production of enzymes catalase and peroxidase. Conclusively, this research revealed that using a multifarious combination of bio-agents significantly (P =.05) increased the efficiency of biological control of A. alternata than using each of them exclusively. Thus, it is recommended that to get an effective result in the control of the pathogen A. alternata in crops as highlighted by the results of this work; a combination of two bio-agents should be used.
