Software and hardware platform for testing of Automatic Generation Control algorithms

A. S. Vasiliev · A.N. Petrov · Sergey Svechkarev

Development and implementation of new Automatic Generation Control (AGC) algorithms requires testing them on a model that adequately simulates primary energetic, information and control processes. In this article an implementation of a test platform based on HRTSim (Hybrid Real Time Simulator) and SCADA CK-2007 (which is widely used by the System Operator of Russia) is proposed. Testing of AGC algorithms on the test platform based on the same SCADA system that is used in operation allows to exclude errors associated with the transfer of AGC algorithms and settings from the test platform to a real power system. A power system including relay protection, automatic control systems and emergency control automatics can be accurately simulated on HRTSim. Besides the information commonly used by conventional AGC systems HRTSim is able to provide a resemblance of Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) measurements (information about rotor angles, magnitudes and phase angles of currents and voltages etc.). The additional information significantly expands the number of possible AGC algorithms so the test platform is useful in modern AGC system developing. The obtained test results confirm that the proposed system is applicable for the tasks mentioned above

Investigation of 2$\beta$ Decay of $^{116}$Cd with the Help of Enriched $^{116}$CdWO$_4$ Crystal Scintillators

O. G. Polischuk · A. S. Barabash · P. Belli +18 more

Double beta decay of $^{116}$Cd has been investigated with the help ofradiopure enriched $^{116}$CdWO$_4$ crystal scintillators in the experimentAurora. The half-life of $^{116}$Cd relatively to the 2$\nu$2$\beta$ decay of$^{116}$Cd to the ground level of $^{116}$Sn is measured with the highestup-to-date accuracy as $T_{1/2}$ = [2.69 $\pm$ 0.02 (stat.) $\pm$ 0.14 (syst.)]$\times$ 10$^{19}$ yr. A new improved limit on the 0$\nu$2$\beta$ decay of$^{116}$Cd to the ground state of $^{116}$Sn is set as $T_{1/2}\geq 2.4 \times10^{23}$ yr at 90\% C.L., that corresponds to the effective Majorana neutrinomass limit in the range $\langle$$m_\nu$$\rangle$ $\le$ $(1.1-1.6)$ eV,depending on the nuclear matrix elements used in the estimations. New improvedlimits on other $2\beta$ processes in $^{116}$Cd (decays with majoron emission, transitions to excited levels of $^{116}$Sn) were set at the level of$T_{1/2}\geq 10^{21}-10^{22}$ yr.

Complete mitochondrial genome of an extinct Equus (Sussemionus) ovodovi specimen from Denisova cave (Altai, Russia)

Anna S. Druzhkova · Alex Makunin · Nadezhda V. Vorobieva +5 more

Sussemionus is an extinct subgenus of Equus first characterized and delineated in 2010. The almost complete mitochondrial genome is available only for a single specimen of Sussemionus - a 40,000 years old E. ovodovi from Proskuryakova cave (Khakassia, Russia). Our studies of ancient horses from Denisova cave (Altai, Russia) revealed mitochondrial DNA of this species in a 32,000 years old sample. Using alignments to multiple mitochondrial genomes of non-caballine equids, we recovered 100% complete mitochondrial genome of E. ovodovi for the first time. Phylogenetic analysis demonstrates close relationship between this individual and the one previously described in Khakassia.

Sharp increasing of positron to electron fluxes ratio below 2 GV measured by the PAMELA

V. V. Mikhailov · O. Adriani · G. C. Barbarino +53 more

Magnetic spectrometer PAMELA was launched onboard a satellite Resurs-DK1 into low-Earth polar orbit with altitude 350-600 km to study cosmic ray antiparticle fluxes in a wide energy range from ∼ 100 MeV to hundreds GeV. This paper presents the results of observations of temporal variations of the positron and electron fluxes in the 2006-2015. The ratio of the positron and electron fluxes below 2 GV shows sharp increasing since 2014 due to changing of the polarity of the solar magnetic field

Kinematic Simulation of a universal rescue vehicle

Ivan Anatolievich Vasiliev · Ekaterina Smirnova · Maxim Krasheninnikov +3 more

The rescue of people in disaster through autonomous means of evacuation in some cases is the only way to save their lives. Rescue Mission often takes place in remote locations. The paper studies modeling of a universal rescue vehicle with a rotary-screw propeller.
