Danila Rocha Cenci · Mônica Damião da Silva · Érika Baptista Gomes +1 more

Jeniffer de Nadae · Edwin Vladimir Cardoza Galdámez · Luiz César Ribeiro Carpinetti +2 more

The objective of this paper is to propose a method for introducing collectively integrated practices of quality, environment and occupational safety and health management in companies belonging to industrial clusters. This method was developed based on a literature review. However, field research in a metal-mechanical cluster was also performed to familiarize researchers with the study environment and to increase the degree of proposal applicability. This method is divided into three macro-phases: (i) planning, (ii) implementation and (iii) evaluation and maintenance. Each stage consists of actions that should be developed by both enterprises and the cluster governance.O objetivo deste artigo é propor um método para que as empresas pertencentes a clusters industriais desenvolvam coletivamente, por meio de ações guiadas pela governança, práticas integradas introdutórias de gestão da qualidade, meio ambiente e segurança e saúde do trabalho.

The arterial circuit of the brain is of great importance because it is responsible for vascularization of the brain and this is the main organ of the central nervous system and responsible for receiving and processing information. The species was chosen because it is a mammal belonging to the Xenarthra order and the members of this order are little studied because of the difficulty of access to these animals. To develop this work were studied five specimens of lesser anteater (Tamandua tetradactyla). The material had the arterial system filled with Neoprene latex stained in red, fixed in aqueous solution of 10% paraformaldehyde and dissected for vessels systematization. The encephalon arterial circuit of lesser anteater surrounds the mammillary body, the interpeduncular fossa, tuber cinereum, hypophysis and optic chiasm. The rostral portion of this circuit is characterized by rostral branches of internal carotid arteries and the caudal portion is formed by caudal communicant arteries from internal carotid artery. This animal species had a type II of encephalic irrigation with participation of internal carotid arteries and vertebrobasilar system to formation of arterial circuit.

Bruna Pinto Coutinho · Érika Labat · Antônio Soares Coutinho +4 more

Lysine supplementation in late gestation of gilts: effects on piglet birth weight, and gestational and lactational performance

Diogo Magnabosco · Thomas Bierhals · Renato Rosa Ribeiro +5 more

Lysine requirements for gain in maternal body reserves and piglet birth weight, during pregnancy, in contemporary prolific genotypes, are not well established. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of dietary lysine in late pregnancy on piglet birth weight, and on the gestational and lactational performance of gilts. Pregnant gilts were uniformly distributed into two groups and received, from 85 to 110 days of gestation, either of two lysine levels in their diet: Control group - 28g lysine/day (n=136), and Lysine group - 35g lysine/day (n=141). There were no effects (P>0.10) of supplemental lysine on body weight and backfat (BF) gain of females or on piglet birth weight. Gilts supplemented with lysine tended to have a lower percentage of stillbirths (P=0.077), reduced within-litter birth weight variation (P=0.094) and a lower percentage of piglets weighing less than 1100g (P=0.082) than in the Control group. During lactation, the performance of sows and litters was also evaluated in a subgroup of sows (n=26/group). There were no differences between the Control and Lysine groups (P>0.10) in voluntary feed intake, body reserve losses (weight and BF), weaning-to-estrus interval of the sows, and litter weaning weight. In conclusion, an increase in lysine (from 28 to 35g/day) in late gestation of gilts (85 to 110 days) tends to reduce the rate of stillbirths and to improve the uniformity of litter weight at birth, but does not affect the performance of females until farrowing or during subsequent lactation

Vaginal leiomyosarcoma in a cow from Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil

João Paulo Elsen Saut · Patrícia Magalhães de Oliveira · Nayara Resende Nasciutti +5 more

The clinical, pathological, and immunohistochemical findings associated with a vaginal leiomyosarcoma in a 12-year-old, Senepol breed of cow from Uberlândia, Minas Gerais are described. The animal had a large ulcerative neoplastic growth that originated between the base and the left-lateral vaginal wall. Histopathology revealed a tumor formed by muscle-like cells that demonstrated cellular pleomorphism, anisokaryosis, prominent and multiple nucleoli, with rare tumor giant cells. The neoplastic growth invaded adjacent adipose tissue, and contained areas of hemorrhage with discrete accumulations of inflammatory cells. By immunohistochemistry, most neoplastic cells expressed actin, while immunoreactivity to desmin was weakly expressed. These findings support a diagnosis of leiomyosarcoma, and represent the first description of a bovine vaginal leiomyosarcoma from Brazil.

Topografia do cone medular do sauim (Saguinus midas)

Danielli Martinelli Martins · Luane Lopes Pinheiro · Ana Rita de Lima +2 more

Primate endemic to Brazil, specifically in the Amazon rainforest, the Sauim feed on small vertebrates, invertebrates, exudates, flowers, nectar, leaves and fungi whose morphology is poorly known. Thus, the objective was to establish morphometric parameters and topographical conus of this species, as a basis for the practice of epidural anesthesia. For this purpose, four samples were evaluated, from the Universidade Federal Rural da Amazonia (UFRA). The Saguinus midas had seven lumbar vertebrae and three sacral vertebrae. After dissection of the conus, we recorded the anatomy of interest, emphasizing its beginning (base) and its end (apex), revealed that after measuring the level of base peak in L4 and S2, with an average length of 5.38cm, which leads us to suggest the lumbosacral region as the most suitable for the development of the practice of epidural anesthesia.

Leandro Felipe Mufato · Laura Filomena Santos de Araújo · Roseney Bellato +1 more

The objective was to analyze how mediation affects the experience of seeking care in case of illness due to the chronic condition caused by colorectal cancer. A comprehensive research approach was used through the Focal Life History, put in practice through an in-depth interview. The study subjects were a person and his family, who experienced illness due to this chronic condition, as well people from their healthcare network, considered as mediators, totaling six interviewed subjects. The mediators acted by facilitating the ill person’s access to health assets and resources. The logic these mediators imprinted in the search for care differs from the logic of public health services, but they influence each other through the bonds of friendship that permeate mediators and public servants. Mediation was observed as something positive in the user’s perspective, due to the dynamics it guarantees for care search networks. DESCRIPTORS : Social networking. Family. Social support. Family relations. Health care.
