It has continued, however, as an intrinsic characteristic of the States System. In recent time, especially after the end of the Cold-War, a huge phenomenon could be verified for its intensity and magnitude, the so called Internally Displacement World Crises. The present article pretends to draw an overview about how the issue of Internally Displacement is being addressed in the international realm, based on bibliographic revision, particularly on some of the principal theorists in the Migration field: Cohen, Haddad, Loescher e Susan Martin. In this sense, it comprehends that this topic is part of a greater debate over international and human security, which questions the concept and notion of sovereignty, as well as the validity of the distinction between international and domestic spheres. Furthermore, it understand that the internally displacement of people exists as a specific analytical model, distinct as logic of forced migration. Focusing on three central aspects: categorization, legal and institutional framework, and ethical paradox, the article will finally conclude in favor of an specific categorization for the internally displaced, stimulating the formulation and strengthening of the international legal realm for this issue.

A prosa experimental de Ambrose Bierce: realismo e antirrealismo em sua ficção de guerra

Resumo: Os contos de Ambrose Bierce (1842-1914?) receberam e ainda recebem pouca atenção da crítica literária tanto estadunidense quanto internacional. Uma das razões por ter sido excluído dos círculos literários da época, segundo os estudiosos, foi seu temperamento beligerante e confrontador. O desdém e sarcasmo com que se dirigia às figuras ilustres de seu tempo estão bem registrados nos jornais onde trabalhou como escritor e editor. No entanto, o aspecto experimental e vanguardista de sua prosa tem sido apontado como o principal elemento de sua exclusão dos ambientes literários. Este texto tem por objetivo examinar alguns contos de guerra de Bierce visando apontar elementos que o colocaram como um escritor à frente de seu tempo. Serão aqui examinadas as estratégias literárias que Bierce utiliza ao questionar a visão racional e dualista da mente e dos processos cognitivos.Palavras-chave: Bierce; realism; cognição.Abstract: The short stories of Ambrose Bierce (1842 – 1914?) received little attention during Bierce’s time and today they still remain somewhat in the margins of the literary canon. One reason for such exclusion, according to scholars, was Bierce’s confrontational and belligerent temperament. His attacks on popular figures of the time as well as sarcasm and scorn towards cultural and literary trends are well recorded in the essays and editorials he wrote for the newspapers where he worked as a reporter and editor. The majority agrees, however, that it is the avant-garde and experimental aspects of his prose that have placed him outside the main literary circles of the late nineteenth-century. This essay aims at examining some of his war stories in light of this argument, namely, as narratives that were much ahead of their time in terms of thematic depth and world-view. This essay will examine, therefore, the textual and plot strategies Bierce employed to question the dualist views of mind and body prevailing in his time.Keywords: Bierce; realism; cognition.

"El carácter tétrico de la historia": "Meditações" sobre a Guerra Civil Espanhola na obra de Juan Benet

Resumo: O autor do ensaio analisa o papel exercido pela Guerra Civil Espanhola nos romances e contos de Juan Benet. Considera- se a guerra um dos temas mais importantes na obra literária de Benet. Partindo de um comentário da estética antirrealista do escritor, o autor mostra os procedimentos irônicos que desconstroem a própria representação mimética dos textos. O objetivo – segundo o autor do artigo – é a criação de um discurso alternativo, no qual os enigmas da guerra não são solucionados senão evocados e conservados em sua condição original e tétrica.Palavras-chave: estética antirrealista; Guerra Civil Espanhola; ironia.Abstract: The author of the article analyses the role played by the Spanish Civil War in Juan Benet’s novels and short stories. The Civil War and its poetic representation is considered one of the most important themes in Benet’s literary works. Departing from Benet’s anti-realistic aesthetics, the author shows how his narrative – in a systematically ironic procedure - destroys its own modes of mimetic representation, pretending to reach other levels of discourse in which the enigmas of war find themselves less resolved than evoked and conserved in their original, terrifying and indissoluble status.Keywords: anti-realistic aesthetics; Spanish Civil War; irony.

Ernest Hemingway e a Guerra Civil Espanhola

Resumo: Este artigo discute o romance For Whom the Bell Tolls, 1940 [Por quem os sinos dobram], do escritor e jornalista americano Ernest Hemingway, uma ficção sobre a Guerra Civil Espanhola que o autor escreveu na Espanha enquanto servia como correspondente de guerra. O romance, favorável à causa legalista, parece assumir uma posição mais política que os romances e histórias anteriores de Hemingway, mas, na verdade, desenvolve mais uma variação do típico “herói de Hemingway”, celebrado em quase toda a obra do autor: o indivíduo solitário, corajoso, destinado ao fracasso, mas determinado a extrair algum significado da vida em um mundo absurdo.Palavras-chave: Guerra Civil Espanhola; herói de Hemingway; literatura de guerra.Abstract: This article discusses the American writer-journalist Ernest Hemingway’s novel For Whom the Bell Tolls (1940), his fiction of the Spanish Civil War, which the author wrote in Spain while serving as a war correspondent for the North American Newspaper Alliance. The novel, sympathetic to the Loyalist cause, seemed to take a more political turn than his previous novels and stories, but in fact turned out to work yet another variation of the typical “Hemingway hero” celebrated in nearly all of the author’s work – the isolated individual, courageous, doomed, but determined to elicit some meaning from life in an absurd world.Keywords: Spanish Civil War; Hemingway hero; Literature of War.

Um olhar irônico sobre a Guerra Civil Espanhola: a novela O Muro, de Jean-Paul Sartre

Resumo: Este artigo aborda a relação de Jean-Paul Sartre com a Guerra Civil Espanhola, por meio da análise da novela intitulada “O muro”, publicada em 1939 na coletânea O muro, obra que marcou a entrada do autor no cenário literário francês. Examinamos, por um lado, como a Guerra Civil Espanhola constitui o cenário para situar as reflexões sobre o engajamento e a liberdade, observando como se manifestam na narrativa e nas personagens que vivenciam a experiência da consciência; por outro lado, constatamos que a ironia se apresenta, nessa novela, como uma resposta à contingência e ao absurdo da existência humana, questões fundamentais que serão desenvolvidas pelo filósofo em suas obras posteriores.Palavras-chave: Sartre; guerra; absurdo; ironia.Résumé: Ce travail propose une approche du rapport de Jean-Paul Sartre à la Guerre Civile Espagnole, à travers l’analyse de la nouvelle “Le mur”, publiée en 1939. Nous examinons, d’une part, dans quelle mesure le scénario constitué para la Guerre permet à l’auteur de placer ses réflexions sur l’engagement et la liberté, en observant comment ses réflexions se présentent chez les personnages qui vivent l’expérience de la conscience; d’autre part, nous constatons que l’ironie y devient une réponse à la contingence et à l’absurde de l’existence humaine, thèmes fondamentaux qui seront développés par le philosophe dans ses œuvres ultérieures.Mots-clés: Sartre; guerre; absurde; ironie.

A trajetória de um gaúcho na Guerra Civil Espanhola: Saga, de Erico Veríssimo

Guerra Civil Espanhola na literatura e no cinema dos anos 1990: a idealização da luta revolucionária

Resumo: No presente artigo pretende-se uma apresentacao de tres obras de conhecidos autores e diretores europeus (uma literaria, duas cinematograficas) dos anos 1990 do seculo 20, nas quais acontece uma idealizacao da luta revolucionaria durante a Guerra Civil Espanhola. O objetivo deste texto e explicar o surgimento do movimento libertario no inicio da contenda na regiao da Catalunha em 1936 e evidenciar as manifestacoes literarias da glorificacao desta batalha na Guerra Civil Espanhola entre anarquistas por um lado e comunistas e republicanos, por outro, estes ultimos querendo reverter a situacao de coletivizacao dos bens agrarios e industriais. Abstract: In the present article the intention is a presentation of three works of well-known European authors and directors (a literary one, two cinematographic ones) of the Nineties of the 20th century in which an idealization of the revolutionary fight in the Spanish Civil War takes place. The objective of this text is to explain the sprouting of the libertarian movement at the beginning of the dispute in the region of Catalonia in 1936 and to evidence the literary and novelistic manifestations of the glorification of these rivalry battles between anarchists on the one hand and communists and republicans on the other side, the latter of which wanted to revert the situation of socialization of the agrarian and industrial goods.
