Approaches for Web Spam Detection

Kanchan Hans · Laxmi Ahuja · Sunil Kumar Muttoo

Spam is a major threat to web security. The web of trust is being abused by the spammers through their ever evolving new tactics for their personal gains. In fact, there is a long chain of spammers who are running huge business campaigns under the web. Spam causes underutilization of search engine resources and creates dissatisfaction among web community. Web Security being a prime challenge for search engines has motivated the researchers in academia and industry to devise new techniques for web spam detection. In this paper we present a comprehensive survey of techniques for detection of web spam and discuss their applicability and performance in various scenarios where they outperformed the others. We have categorized web spam detection with the primary focus on the approaches used for spam detection. The paper also gives the possible directions for future work.

Portable Monitoring / Diagnostic System based on the Combining of Real Time WSN with GSM and Internet

Samir JasimMohammed · Mahmoud Nasr · Ali J. Ramadhan

The development of the healthcare systems, by combining Ehealth, I-health and GSM-health together, recently became the focus of attention of researchers. In this research, will develop our research that practically designed in the name of "Real Time Portable Health Care PP, GSR, BG, EMG with Alarm System Based on WSN" to assist in the development of the health situation in the hospitals. The system develops by supporting GSM and Internet together in the wireless sensor network (WSN) under ZigBee protocol and by supporting the printing of medical reports. Where the implemented system measures the biomedical data utilizing a group of biomedical sensors, which are patient position sensor (PPS), galvanic skin response sensor (GSR), blood glucose sensor (BGS) and electromyography sensor (EMG). The System monitors the sleep position and skin conductance (indicator to patient's calm) of the patients in real time with alarm for each abnormal case in the base station (BS) and lobbies, and sends SMS alarm to doctor's phone, and it follows-up patient's glucose rate and diagnosis the patient's electromyography status. Moreover, it sends the glucose data to doctor's phone and uploads it to the special web site by using the GSM and Internet technologies. In addition, it introduces a printed hard copy medical report. Moreover, the system stores the patient information and his health data in order to use it for any archiving process or statistical study. In the achievement system, three nodes are considered according to the facilities available but it stays monitor / diagnosis for an open node number. The system is implemented practically and applied for some persons under supervision of the specialist physicians, and the results obtained are very satisfied and present a great service to human care. All obtained results are presented in this paper.

Digital Watermarking using Discrete Wavelet Techniques with the help of Multilevel Decomposition Technique

Anum JaveedZargar · Ninni Singh

Digital watermarking plays an important role for securing data, providing authentication, confidentiality and even protects digital images from illegal distortion. In this paper, we are particular using discrete wavelet transform which is more prevalent than others. The watermark logo is inserted after compressing the image with the help of JPEG compression technique. First original image is taken; it is changed into multilevel decomposed with the help of HAAR wavelet, as it is a type of wavelet used for diet (discrete wavelet technique) technique. The algorithm has been tested under the presence of attacks like Gaussian noise, JPEG compression and we see how their BER and PSNR value varies. Further, compression before watermarking is done to ensure inaccessibility of information to unauthorized personnel.

Heterogeneity Aware Clustered WSN using Multi-hop Communication

Abhilasha Pandey · Nitin Muchhal · Mohd Rizal Abdullah +1 more

Energy in wireless sensor network is a recent topic of research. To organize the network such a way that should minimize energy dissipation and maximize network stability period and network lifetime. In this paper, a distributed, randomized Heterogeneity Aware Clustering Algorithm (HACA) to organize the sensors in a wireless sensor network into clusters has been proposed.HACA is very simple to implement in the sensor nodes. This is a dynamic protocol, it will work automatically over no prior distribution of the levels of energy in the nodes is to conserve.HACA algorithm alsogeneratea hierarchy of cluster heads and observe that the energy savings increase with the number of levels in the hierarchy. Results in stochastic geometry are used to derive solutions for the values of the parameters of proposed algorithm that minimize the total energy spent in the network when all sensors report data through the cluster heads to the processing center.
