Distortion-free Watermarking Scheme for Compressed Data in Columnar Database

Waheeb Yaqub · Ibrahim Kamel · Zeyar Aung

Digital watermarking is an effective technique for protecting various databases against data copyright infringement, piracy, and data tampering in the columnar database. Increasing deployments of various database systems and their versatile applications have raised the need for better watermarking schemes that are tailored to the target database systems’ specific architecture. Most of the existing digital watermarking schemes do not take into consideration the side effects that watermarking might have on the database’s important characteristics such as data compression and overall performance. In this research, we propose a distortion-free fragile watermarking scheme for columnar database architecture without interfering its underlying data compression scheme and its overall performance. The proposed scheme is flexible and can be adapted to various distributions of data. We tested our proposed scheme on both synthetic and real-world data, and proved its

Mining Developer Questions about Major Web Frameworks

Zakaria Mehrab · Raquib Bin Yousuf · Ibrahim Asadullah Tahmid +1 more

Web frameworks are the de facto way to build web-enabled applications. Stack Overflow, being one of the leading question answering sites available, has become a helpful resource in numerous software engineering research. In this paper, we present a study of common challenges and issues among developers of two major web frameworks namely Laravel and Django by mining questions asked on Stack Overflow. We extracted the issues that the developers are most concerned about. We sorted these issues by popularity and difficulty metrics and observed the contrasting nature of difficulty and popularity. We also noted an exception that installation is a popular issue over both the frameworks and simultaneously it is also difficult to resolve. Besides, we found that about 50% issues are common over both the frameworks. Our findings would help the framework developers to understand better the need of the framework users by focusing most difficult and the most popular issues.

A disease which impairs the quality of life and associated with increased morbidity and mortality and a worldwide problem is known as peptic ulcer. Ulceration is resulting with the elevated acid secretion, and diminished mucosal resistance due to Helicobacter pylori infection, NSAID's, alcohol intake and tobacco smoking. This study was carried out to find out the anti-ulcer activity of papaya juice mixed with cumin seed extract in ethanol induced peptic ulcer in rats. Healthy adult female albino rats were used for this study. The rats were divided into five groups with six rats each. Omeprazole 20mg/kg were used as a standard drug. Group 1: Control group, Group 2: Positive group, Group 3: Standard group which received Omeprazole, Group 4: Extract test group which received papaya juice (20ml/kg) mixed with cumin seed with strength of (2.5ml/kg), Group 5: Extract test group which receives papaya juice (20ml/kg) mixed with cumin seed with the strength of (5ml/kg). Ethanol will be given in dose of 1ml per rat orally to Group 2, 3, 4 and 5 animal groups on the 8 day of experiment. The rats were sacrificed and stomachs were opened. Ulcer index and histological changes were studied. The results of the study exhibit that papaya juice in combination with cumin seed extract has significant anti-ulcer activity with p value <0.05 through statistical analysis and there is decrease in ulcer score comparable to omeprazole. The extract group has has better ulcer protective compared to control indicating the plants possess significant anti-ulcer property in a dose dependent manner.

Language is a very essential in human life, moreover English as foreign language. Since English language is used almost all countries around the world as the international language. However, people often get difficulties in practicing it and producing some errors. The most common speech error is slips of the tongue. Therefore, this research aimed to analyse and observe the types of slips of the tongue and the possible condition which caused the international students produce slips of the tongue in their oral presentations at Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. Thus, if second language learners know about slips of the tongue, they will avoid to produce the same errors on slips of the tongue. The researchers used descriptive qualitative approach since the data were derived from speakers’ utterances which were transcribed. This research applied the theories proposed by Fromkin about eight types of slips of the tongue, and Clark and Clark about the factors which influenced the slips of the tongue. The result showed that there were 127 slips of the tongue found in international students’ utterances. The researchers found the fact that the typology of slips of the tongue mostly produced by Africa speakers was substitutions which occurred 30 times in total, while the typology of slips of the tongue mostly produced by Asia speakers was deletions which occurred 27 times in total. Furthermore, the most possible condition which might influence slips of the tongue in international students’ utterances was situational anxiety. Due to the fact that they felt tired because of their activities and assignments. Thus, it might influence them to produce slips of the tongue when they did the oral presentations.
