Freedom through Online Education. Are We Safe Online?

Kamila Danilovna Shaibakova

The article shed light on a problem of freedom of expression through Online Education. Nowadays, the intermediaries such as Facebook, Google, Twitter, etc. play crucial role in educating people. Their policies in addition to the governmental regulations could seriously affect the human rights. The extraterritoriality and non-state actor status of transnational companies are also problems when considering violation of human rights as legally transnational corporations cannot violate rights as non-state actors and have no obligation towards people. In addition, fake news and trolley factories became a true problem that claimed to be able to affect even elections. Moreover, they could affect the right to know and receive information which constitutes a part of the general right to freedom of expression. However, as recent examples show, social media platforms knowingly keep fake information despite the public announcement of human rights commitments. In addition, while claiming the dedication to the human rights protection, business still more interested in profit.

Phytogenic additive Noni (Morinda citrifolia) in feed of confined lambs

Luiz Juliano Valério Geron · Luiz Eduardo Cantão Veloso · Eduardo Henrique Bevitori Kling de Moraes +7 more

The objective of this study was to evaluate the inclusion of different levels of 0.0%; 0.7%; 1.4% and 2.1% of Noni (Morinda citrifolia) in the feeding of lambs regarding ingestive behavior and physiological variables. The experiment was carried out in a double Latin (4x4) experimental design with eight animals, consisting of four periods and four experimental rations. Eight lambs with no defined racial pattern were used, with mean initial body weight (BW) of 23.74 ± 1.00 kg. The ingestive behavior was performed during 24 hours, always on the last day of each experimental period. The physiological variables and the environmental variables were measured during three days of each period. Data were submitted for analysis of variance and, when significant, regression equation was applied at 5% of probability. Statistical analysis was performed considering the subdivision of the plot, which consisted of the diurnal and nocturnal evaluation times for the ingestive behavior and the morning and afternoon periods for the physiological variables. The inclusion of Noni in fed lambs did not change (p > 0.05) the time spent with ingestive behaviors for dry matter intake (DMI), rumination (RUM), idleness (IDL), water intake (WIN) and other activity (OAC). However, the daytime During the period there was gr eater (p 0.05) time use during the night time for RUM and IDL. The physiological variables were not influenced (p > 0.05) by the inclusion of Noni in the diets of lambs. However, higher mean (p < 0.05) body temperature of the front and rear, rectal temperature and respiratory rate of the lambs were observed during the afternoon. The inclusion of up to 2.1% of Noni in lamb feed does not alter ingestive behavior and physiological variables. However, the consumption of dry matter and water is higher during the diurnal period, while rumination and idleness are more active during the night period.

Telomere dynamics in adult hematological malignancies

Helena Olbertová · Karla Plevová · Kamila Stránská +1 more

Telomeres are repetitive DNA sequences protecting physical ends of linear chromosomes against degradation and end-to-end chromosomal fusion. Telomeres shorten with each cell division, which regulates the cellular lifespan in somatic cells and limits their renewal capacity. Cancer cells are often able to overcome this physiological barrier and become immortal with unlimited replicative capacity. In this review, we present current knowledge on the role of telomeres in human aging with a focus on their behavior in hematological malignancies of adults. Associations of telomere length to age-related diseases and to the prevention of telomere shortening are also discussed.

Evaluation of spine structure stability at different locations during SBRT

Lukáš Knybel · Jakub Cvek · Zuzana Čermáková +3 more

Modern stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) techniques and systems that use online image guidance offer frameless radiotherapy of spinal tumors and the ability to control intrafraction motion during treatment. These systems allow precise alignment of the patient during the entire treatment session and react immediately to random changes in this alignment. Online tracking data provide information about intrafractional changes, and this information can be useful for designing treatment strategies even if online tracking is not being used. The present study evaluated spine motion during SBRT treatment to assess the risk of verifying patient alignment only prior to starting treatment.

Magic and Albinism in Tanzania

Kamila Axmannová

An article is focused on the approach to the people with albinism in sub-Saharan Africa, in particular in Tanzania where I was doing field research. That approach was transformed during time and during socio-economical changes into the shape which shows elements of fetishism. I mean, specifically, assigning of inseparable values and powers to the body parts of people with albinism. I was doing my etnographical research since december 2015 till may 2016.

Political Imbroglios in Kamila Shamsie’s Home Fire and Mohammad Hanif’s A Case of Exploding Mangoes

Muhammad Arfan Lodhi · Sania Muqqadas · Sobia Sikander

This research work aims at to scrutinize two novels of Pakistani writers, Mohammad Hanif’s A Case of Exploding Mangoes (2008) and Kamila Shamsie’s Home Fire (2017) comparatively. Hanif’s novel is about the ruling era of General Zia-ul-Haq and Shamsie’s novel is about the difficulties of Muslim migrants in a foreign country. The purpose of this study is to accentuate the working of politics and political imbroglios at personal, social, civil/political, and military level; intermingling of religious values into political values; and conversion of politics into capitalism through Marxism theory which is originated by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels in the mid-to-late nineteenth century, taken from Lois Tyson’s book Critical theory today (2006). The researchers have substantiated through the comparative analysis of both novels that the use of politics in a positive way becomes the cause of peace and prosperity and the use of it negatively becomes the cause of creating disintegration and demolition in the society. This study spotlighted that whatever people do in their life, they do so to get personal benefits, political advantages and economic power. Conspicuous findings of the study reveal that both novels explicate intricate ideologies at personal, political, cultural and somewhat emotional levels. The novels display themes and stories, with slight manipulation of political and cultural facts and realities.
